Character Background:
Centuries ago, certain overzealous factions within the Church of the Silver Flame carried their inquisition against the lycanthropes against their shifter descendants. The tribes retreated into the Eldeen Reaches. Some retreated further within the Towering Wood than others.

Redback's tribe, and other tribes in the vicinity, gave up on human naming conventions, instead gaining their names based on visions they sought when they came of age.

In Redback's vision, he saw himself from behind, drenched in blood, alone in a field of blood. He is unsure of what the vision foretold, but he hopes now that it was a metaphor for the Mourning, for he can't imagine that there would be anything worse in his life than the destruction of a nation.

Redback initially left his tribe from wanderlust; a desire to see the wider world. He initially fell in with the predominant Warden culture of the Reaches, and their defense of the Reaches from its enemies during the Last War. When the Reaches loaned rangers to Breland as a precurser to a more formal alliance, Redback served with a Brelish unit in Cyre until the Day of Mourning.

After the war and the Mourning, Redback's desire to see the wider world was muted. He returned to the Reaches, and spent the four years wandering around, spending some time back with his parents and sister in his old tribe, other time in Greenheart, Wolf's Paw and other communities, and the remainder of the time wandering by himself with the two warhounds he picked up in Varna.

At one point he ran afoul of a pack of vile shifters who saw themselves as the true inheritors of the werewolves, and acted the part. He killed the pack leader's brother, and earned the eternal enimity of that leader.

Redback came to First Tower more out of curiosity than any desire for a reward from Cannith, and stayed because Wrath said it would honor him if we took him up on his offer. And now that the free stay is at an end, he would rather be off away from the crowded metropolis. But a strange feeling, along with what he can interpret from the stars (though he is no expert at astrology), tells him that he should be in Sharn for some reason.

In the intervening time between adventures, Redback has discovered the shifter population in Lower Northedge, and is currently staying at the Bear's Rest. He tried to get work with House Vadalis as an animal handler, but didn't have the right connections to get hired [doesn't have ranks in the appropriate Profession] and is currently living off his saved money.

He has let the rest of the group know where to reach him in case they find work they want him to help with.
