Character Background:
Caelest is the son of a solar and a divine seeker of Torm. Though he talks little about his past, it is known that he was raised in the House of the Triad (the celestial plane home to Ilmater, Torm, and Tyr). Other than a few cryptic statements, his past is a mystery to the group.

Caelest has a basic understanding of life on Toril, but no practical experience. Since money was never used in the House of the Triad, he generally declines rewards or gives them to others who seem to need them. His only monetary concern is having enough funds to maintain himself and his equipment.

Though Caelest appears serious and relatively naive, he does have a different side that few see. Being raised by his father taught Caelest to separate lies from truth, and gave him a sense of humor that comes out only when he is very comfortable with those around him.

Recent History:
Caelest arrived in Woodhill on the day that Erakis activated the portal linking the town to Silverymoon, Waterdeep, and Shadowdale. He stated that he was there because he was needed to watch over the group (particularly Julianne and Vladien). He gets along with most members of the group, although Vladien is a special case. On one hand, Vladien has several traits in common with his father, and Caelest was told to watch over the young rogue. On the other hand, Vladien is deceitful and greedy, traits which are sinful and cause many to walk darker paths.

Caelest was given a powerful magic sword (a sacred relic of his faith) in exchange for completing a quest for the church. He grew used to wielding its power, and was shocked when it shattered in combat versus a golem-like creature. This incident has caused him to withdraw from the group, taking a journey to his home to decide whether he has strayed from his calling (by becoming too reliant on a material possession). Now, he undertakes quests in order to earn the right to wield a Holy Avenger.
